Abstract:

The dataset is a collection of groundwater classifications based on RECAP (Risk Evaluation Corrective Action Plan) standards. Groundwater classification determines the extent of cleanup required based on actual or potential groundwater use. The groundwater classifications range from "GW1", which represents groundwater currently being used as a drinking water source to "GW3-NDW" which represents groundwater that has no potential as a drinking water source.

Purpose:

This dataset was developed to enable regulators and the regulated community to determine probable groundwater classification by utilizing data already generated at nearby sites without performing extensive site specific evaluation.
