Title: VECTOR.la_ldeq_subsegments

Geospatial_Data_Presentation_Form: vector digital data

Description:

This is a polygon data set of watershed basin subsegments for Louisiana. The dataset was developed for the LDEQ Office of Environmental Assessment's (OEA) watershed assessment and management tasks. The basin-subsegments form the management units for water resources used throughout the agency. This layer was approved in 2021 and reflects updates from water quality rules including: WQ097 (Triennial Review updates that include a subsegment addition, several boundary refinements, subsegment merges, and also name edits, code edits, and description edits); WQ106 (description updates to Cross Bayou and Cross Lake); and WQ108 (reverted Intracoastal Waterway and Mississippi River Gulf Outlet to original descriptions). This dataset contains 497 individual subsegments and six main fields. The main fields include: SUBSEGMENT; SUBSEGMENT_ID; NAME; DESCRIPTION; BASIN; and MASTER_AI_ID.

Abstract:

This basin-subsegment data is used for water quality planning and regulatory tasks, and form the water quality management units used throughout the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality (LDEQ). This dataset is for use in the LDEQ Interactive Make-A-Map Application (LIMA). The dataset was developed for the LDEQ Office of Environmental Assessment's (OEA) watershed assessment and management tasks. The basin-subsegments form the management units for water resources used throughout the agency. This dataset was last updated August 2021, with minor metadata updates in November 2022.

Purpose:

This basin-subsegment data is used for water quality planning and regulatory tasks, and form the water quality management units used throughout LDEQ (LDEQ, 2021, Water Quality Management Plan: Vol. 4, App. A). This dataset is also for use in the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality Make-A-Map Application (LIMA).
